  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed (for the crust)
  • 57 tbsp ice water (for the crust)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). In a bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; set aside.
  2. For the crust, mix flour and salt in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add ice water until dough forms. Roll out half for the bottom crust.
  3. Fill the bottom crust with the apple mixture and dot with butter. Roll out the second half for the top crust or create a lattice pattern.
  4. Seal edges by pinching or using a fork. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbling. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
