- 1 ½ pounds Ribeye or Sirloin steak
- 2 tablespoons fresh ground dark roast coffee
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Remove the steak from the fridge and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix together fresh ground coffee, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne if desired.
- Generously coat both sides of the steak with the spice mixture, massaging it into the meat.
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil if using a skillet.
- Sear the steak for approximately 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare doneness (adjust based on thickness).
- Allow the steak to rest for at least five minutes before slicing and serving.
