- 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
- 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 4 soft burger buns
- 1 cup fresh lettuce, shredded
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- Your favorite condiments (ketchup, mustard, barbecue sauce)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt and pepper, then form into four patties (¾ inch thick) with an indentation in the center.
- Grill patties for about 4-5 minutes per side until desired doneness is reached.
- In the last minute of grilling, place cheese slices on top of each patty and close the grill lid until melted.
- Toast burger buns lightly on the grill.
- Assemble burgers with fresh veggies and condiments.
- Serve immediately alongside chips or a salad.
