Ingredients
- 1 pound ground lamb or beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 4 cups mashed potatoes (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Olive oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onions and carrots until tender.
- Add garlic and ground meat; cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, salt, pepper, and thyme. Simmer briefly.
- Transfer filling to a baking dish, layer with frozen peas, and top with mashed potatoes.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
