- 3–4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 – 2 lbs)
- 1 cup barbeque sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Optional: Chopped green onions or cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Lightly spray your crockpot with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
- In a bowl, whisk together barbeque sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, onion powder, and black pepper until well combined.
- Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the chicken shreds easily.
- Shred the chicken directly in the pot using two forks and mix well with the sauce before serving.
