- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 8 oz cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups egg noodles or rice (for serving)
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients by chopping the onion and slicing the mushrooms.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add onions and mushrooms; sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Push vegetables aside, add ground beef, and brown evenly while breaking it apart.
- Stir in minced garlic and flour; cook for another minute.
- Pour in beef broth gradually while stirring; bring to a simmer until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat; fold in sour cream until well combined. Adjust seasoning as needed.
- Serve over egg noodles or rice.
