Ingredients
- 1 ribeye or sirloin steak (1–1.5 inches thick)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- Fresh thyme or rosemary (a handful)
- Sea salt and black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until very hot.
- Season both sides of the steak generously with sea salt and black pepper.
- Add the steak to the hot skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side until browned.
- Flip the steak, then add the butter, minced garlic, and herbs to the pan.
- Baste the melted butter over the steak for another 4-5 minutes until reaching your desired doneness.
- Remove from heat and let rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.
