- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup pecan pieces (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture until just combined.
- Scoop a portion of dough, flatten it slightly, place a few chocolate chips (and pecans if desired) in the center, and cover with another piece of dough.
- Place filled cookies on prepared sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
