  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for topping)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a dash of sugar. Let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes). In another bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg; stir until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough: On a floured surface, knead for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  3. Make the filling: Blend softened cream cheese with sugar and vanilla in a separate bowl. Fold in chopped strawberries.
  4. Assemble the rolls: Roll out dough into a rectangle (1/2 inch thick), spread filling evenly over it, roll tightly from one end to another. Slice into 12 equal pieces.
  5. Bake: Place rolls in a greased baking dish with space between them. Let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
