  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: Serves 4

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz dried spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground halal beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 28 oz canned whole peeled tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs (basil, oregano, parsley)
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). In a bowl, combine ground halal beef, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and Italian herbs until just mixed.
  2. Form mixture into golf-ball-sized meatballs and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for about 20 minutes until browned.
  3. While meatballs are baking, heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Sauté diced onion until translucent (about 5 minutes), then add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  4. Crush canned tomatoes by hand and add to the pan along with Italian herbs. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Once meatballs are done baking, add them to the marinara sauce and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Serve over cooked spaghetti with extra sauce on top.
