- 1 lb 80/20 ground beef
- 8 soft tortillas or hard taco shells
- 1 cup shredded lettuce (romaine or iceberg)
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 avocado, sliced or mashed
- ½ cup sour cream
- Salsa or hot sauce (to taste)
Instructions
- Prepare all ingredients by chopping vegetables and warming taco shells.
- Form four 4-ounce patties from ground beef without overworking.
- Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Cook patties for 3 minutes until crispy, then flip.
- Add cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover with a lid to melt for an additional 2–3 minutes.
- Assemble tacos by placing cheesy patties in warm shells, then top with lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, sour cream, and salsa.
