- 1 lb spicy sausage
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to a 12-inch diameter and transfer it to a greased baking sheet.
- In a skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the sausage until browned. Drain excess grease, leaving some for flavor.
- Sprinkle flour over the cooked sausage and stir well. Gradually whisk in milk until thickened.
- Stir in half of the cheddar cheese into the gravy mixture. Whisk eggs with black pepper and pour over the mixture in the skillet.
- Pour the sausage gravy evenly over the pizza dough and top with remaining cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Slice and serve hot.
