Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup strawberry puree (fresh or frozen)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract and milk until smooth.
- Divide the batter into three bowls: add cocoa powder to one for chocolate, strawberry puree to another for fruity flavor, leaving the last as plain vanilla.
- Pour each batter into prepared pans and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow cooling completely before frosting.
