- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1.5 cups panko breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil (enough for frying)
- 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)
Instructions
- Slice mozzarella into sticks approximately 1 inch wide and 4 inches long. Pat dry with a paper towel.
- Set up a breading station: Place flour on one plate, beaten eggs (seasoned lightly with salt) on another, and panko breadcrumbs on a third.
- Coat each mozzarella stick first in flour, then dip in egg wash, followed by breadcrumbs until fully covered.
- Freeze the breaded sticks for about 30 minutes to prevent melting during frying.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat (about 350°F).
- Fry the sticks in batches for about 2 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
