- 2 slices sourdough or whole grain bread
- 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs or crushed tortilla chips (for crunch)
- 2 tbsp honey (for dipping sauce)
- 1 tbsp mustard (for dipping sauce)
Instructions
- Preheat your skillet over medium heat.
- Generously butter one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side, layer shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
- Sprinkle panko breadcrumbs or crushed chips on top of the cheese.
- Place one slice of bread in the skillet (buttered side down), then cover with the second slice (buttered side up).
- Grill for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Serve with honey mustard dipping sauce.
