- 2 slices Halal bread (sourdough or white)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella and cheddar mix)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup crushed cornflakes or panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients by gathering everything on your counter.
- In a bowl, mix the crushed cornflakes or panko with garlic powder.
- Spread butter generously on one side of each slice of bread.
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat and place one slice of bread butter-side down in the skillet.
- Layer cheese generously on the bread, then top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown; flip carefully to crisp the other side.
- After flipping, sprinkle the crunchy topping onto the melted cheese side and cook until crispy.
