- 2 slices sourdough or whole wheat bread
- 2 oz cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice in the pan, butter-side down, and layer cheese on top. Cover with the second slice, butter-side up.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then flip carefully and cook the other side until equally golden.
- For extra meltiness, cover the skillet with a lid for 1 minute.
- Remove from heat, let sit briefly, slice diagonally, and serve.
