  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Cold water as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a bowl, toss sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour and salt; cut in cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add cold water to form dough.
  4. Roll out half the dough into a circle for the bottom crust; place in pie pan.
  5. Fill with apple mixture; dot with butter. Roll out remaining dough for top crust, seal edges, and cut slits for steam.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.
