- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
- 1/2 cup ketchup (plus extra for glaze)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion until soft and translucent (about 5 minutes). Let cool.
- 3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, sautéed onions, and half of the ketchup. Season with salt and pepper.
- 4. Shape the mixture into a loaf on a lined baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
- 5. Spread remaining ketchup on top of the meatloaf.
- 6. Bake for about 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
