- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Pound the chicken breasts to about half an inch thick for even cooking.
- Set up a dredging station: one plate for seasoned flour, another for beaten eggs, and a third for breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan.
- Dip each chicken breast into flour, then eggs, and coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and sear the breaded chicken until golden brown (about 3 minutes per side).
- Place seared chicken in the baking dish, spoon marinara sauce over each piece, and sprinkle mozzarella on top.
- Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (75°C).
