  • 2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp butter (for greasing)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and slice the russet potatoes into 1/8-inch rounds.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Grease a baking dish with butter. Layer half of the potato slices in the dish; pour half of the cream mixture over them and sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese. Repeat the layers.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil for the last 15 minutes to brown the top.
  6. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
