- 2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp butter (for greasing)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and slice the russet potatoes into 1/8-inch rounds.
- In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Grease a baking dish with butter. Layer half of the potato slices in the dish; pour half of the cream mixture over them and sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese. Repeat the layers.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil for the last 15 minutes to brown the top.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
