Ingredients
- 1 lb ziti pasta
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup fresh basil, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil water in a large pot and cook ziti pasta until al dente (8-10 minutes). Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, and basil. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a baking dish, spread one cup of marinara sauce at the bottom. Layer half of the cooked ziti followed by half of the cheesy mixture. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
- Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
