- 1 lb halal-certified ground beef
- 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 4 soft sub rolls
- 8 oz sliced mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Roll the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until browned and cooked through (internal temperature of 160°F/70°C).
- While meatballs bake, heat marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until simmering.
- Slice open each sub roll and fill with several meatballs and marinara sauce. Top with mozzarella slices. Broil for 2–3 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
