  • 1 lb halal-certified ground beef
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 soft sub rolls
  • 8 oz sliced mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until browned and cooked through (internal temperature of 160°F/70°C).
  4. While meatballs bake, heat marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until simmering.
  5. Slice open each sub roll and fill with several meatballs and marinara sauce. Top with mozzarella slices. Broil for 2–3 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
