- 3 lbs boneless chuck roast
- 4 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 4 fresh French rolls or hoagie rolls
- Optional: Sautéed onions and sliced Provolone or Swiss cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Season the beef roast generously with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear each side of the roast until browned (about 4-5 minutes).
- Place the roast in a roasting pan, pour beef broth around it, cover tightly with foil, and bake for about three hours or until tender.
- After cooking, let the roast rest before shredding into thick slices.
- Slice the rolls open and fill with shredded beef; top with sautéed onions or cheese if desired. Serve with warm broth on the side for dipping.
