- 8 oz spaghetti
- 1 can (28 oz) whole peeled tomatoes
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinara Sauce: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Add Tomatoes: Pour in canned tomatoes and crush them gently. Stir in salt, pepper, and oregano. Let simmer while cooking pasta.
- Cook the Spaghetti: Boil salted water in a large pot. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions (8-10 minutes) until al dente.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Drain spaghetti (do not rinse) and add it to the marinara sauce, tossing to coat.
- Serve: Plate generous portions of spaghetti, topping with grated Parmesan cheese and garnishing with fresh basil.
