Ingredients
- 8 oz spaghetti
- 1 lb ground halal beef
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) whole peeled tomatoes
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp sugar (optional)
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients by chopping onions and garlic finely.
- In a bowl, mix ground halal beef with minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Roll into golf ball-sized meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and brown them on all sides (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from skillet.
- In the same skillet, add chopped onions; sauté until soft. Then add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Pour in canned tomatoes and sugar (if using), season with salt and pepper, and simmer for about 20 minutes.
- Return meatballs to the skillet; let them soak in the sauce for an additional 10 minutes.
- Serve over cooked spaghetti topped with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese.
