  • 1 lb ground halal beef
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) whole peeled tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients by chopping onions and garlic finely.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground halal beef with minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Roll into golf ball-sized meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and brown them on all sides (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, add chopped onions; sauté until soft. Then add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  5. Pour in canned tomatoes and sugar (if using), season with salt and pepper, and simmer for about 20 minutes.
  6. Return meatballs to the skillet; let them soak in the sauce for an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Serve over cooked spaghetti topped with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese.
