- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (sifted)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit until foamy (about 5 minutes).
- In another bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Gradually combine with yeast mixture along with melted butter, eggs, and vanilla; stir until dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled (about 1 hour).
- Roll out risen dough to 1/2-inch thick and cut into circles.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat; fry donuts until golden brown (about 2 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.
- Mix cream cheese and powdered sugar for filling; use a piping bag to fill each donut.
