- 8 cups stale French bread or brioche, cubed
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, for greasing
- 1 cup heavy cream (for sauce)
- ½ cup powdered sugar (for sauce)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cubed stale bread.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until smooth. Pour over the bread cubes and gently fold to coat. Let sit for 15 minutes.
- Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
- For the sauce, whisk together heavy cream and powdered sugar in a saucepan over low heat until smooth. Drizzle over pudding before serving.
