Ingredients
- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly coat a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides; place in the baking dish.
- Pour marinara sauce over each chicken breast until well coated.
- Tear or slice mozzarella cheese and layer it on top of the saucy chicken.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and cheese is bubbly.
- Sprinkle fresh basil on top before serving.
