- Blue food coloring
- Cream cheese frosting (cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
- Beat sugar and oil in a separate bowl until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time followed by buttermilk and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
- Stir in blue food coloring until your desired shade is reached.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients; mix until combined.
- Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool before frosting with cream cheese mixture.
